Through engaging events, informative speakers, and interactive workshops, BITS encourages students to expand their knowledge, develop valuable skills, and network with industry professionals.

About us

BITS is a student-run organization at the University of Washington dedicated to bridging the gap between business and technology. We equip students with the technical, analytical, and professional skills needed to succeed in technology-driven industries.

Every event is open to any UW student: no application, no prerequisites, no technical background required.

  • Community

    Members come from business, information systems, computer science, and everything adjacent, whether you're just exploring tech or already deep in it.

  • Skills

    Practical work with Excel, SQL, Python, data analysis, product thinking, and technical interviewing, plus the leadership and communication skills that make them count.

  • Network

    Meet students, alumni, and industry guests at every meeting. Past guests have come from Amazon, Meta, and Microsoft, along with interns at JPMorgan and Google.

A short workshop or guest talk, then open time to ask questions and meet the people in the room, with executives, guests, and members working on the same problems you are. Whether you've never opened a terminal or you already have an internship, you're welcome here.
